Prof. Dr. Iftikhar N. Hassan is currently as Adjunct Professor at Karakoram International University Gilgit - Baltistan and former Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director Women Research and Resource Center, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi. She also worked at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad as Professor, Chairperson and Dean of Basic and Applied Sciences. She is the founder Director of National Institute of Psychology where she conducted several national studies on different Psychological, Social and Educational Issues.
She received Masters in Philosophy from Government College University, Lahore and a second Masters in Psychology from Stanford University, California, and Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana, USA in Clinical Psychology. She spent a year at University of California, Berkeley to study and do research on spread of feminism on US campuses as Visiting Faculty and Senior Fulbright Scholar. Her teaching and research career is spread over forty years. Starting from her doctoral research, which was, referred in several books of Psychology written by American author to present time she has been an ardent researcher. Her research focus is Women and Rural Population. She has more than sixty research publications both national and international. She has also published six books most on gender issues. She received President of Pakistan's citation in 1983, is included in Who’s Who at Cambridge and has been on consultants list with UNESCO, World Bank and Asian Development Bank. Besides many other awards she received Fatima Jinnah Life Time Achievement Award (2007) as an acknowledgement for her outstanding contribution as an academic researcher and administrator.
