Dr. Fouzia Sadiq is a Professor of Physiology and the acting Director ORIC at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University. Before taking up a position in Pakistan, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher and Director of Biology at Imperial College London and in Riotech Pharmaceuticals, a spin-off company of Imperial College London, for over a decade. With over 30 years of experience in teaching and research in the field of biological sciences and clinical translational research, Dr. Sadiq possesses broad interdisciplinary expertise. Her research has been published in high-impact international journals, including The Lancet, The Lancet-Regional Health Southeast Asia, and Nature. Throughout her career, she has supervised MSc, PhD, and clinical research fellows. Additionally, her CV reflects a long list of abstracts presented jointly with her students at various conferences. Currently, she is supervising three PhD students who are conducting research on Familial Hypercholesterolemia and/or Covid-19. Dr. Sadiq holds the position of Pakistan Lead for the Familial Hypercholesterolemia Studies Collaboration, a worldwide project led by Professor Kausik Ray at Imperial College London. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority UK.
